That also in ancient times there were philosophical fraternities, colleges, and societies among other nations and peoples, who pursued the secrets of nature and this medicine with the highest diligence, and for many hundreds of years, as it were, handed them down from mouth to mouth to their successors, whom they chose from among other philosophers.

Chapter VI.

Whence it is not entirely unbelievable to us that there is such a society, college, and fraternity at the present time, even if it has revealed and manifested itself to the world with its writings and deeds.
