Since they then also had their moving causes to reveal themselves to the world to some extent and to ascertain the judgment of the learned, reasons subsequently came to them for which they remained hidden for a time and wished to endure the first impulse and hostility with patience.
For through the revelation made by the Fama and Confession, they have been received with different opinions, in that some have held all such things to be a vain, worldly, mere fantasy and nonsense, who then hereby reveal that they are inexperienced in all matters, either out of hatred or ignorance of Chymia Alchemy oppose themselves, or else out of too great love and affection for themselves, claim the knowledge of all arts and secrets of nature for themselves; and first, the ignorant are answered herein.
