Silence After the Clamors

But in my opinion, they use a judgment that is too hot and hasty, while they look for a knot, as they say, in a bulrush, and pluck at the eyes of crows, with a crime no less than if they were pushing sixty-year-olds off the bridge. For nothing is established by these men that is contrary to truth, and nothing is asserted that is against good morals. Equity, reason, the experience of the ancients, the order and harmony of things, and all the circumstances which are known to fight for the truth, not for falsehood, support them.
