Lord and Patron, and the calumnies slanderous accusations of the detractors of this nation are sufficiently silenced, the content of which is briefly summarized here.
However, Well-born, Valiant, and Best Lord, since this little treatise should rightfully also be shared in their mother tongue with this nation, as it was written entirely for their praise and glory, I have, at the pleasure of the publisher, translated it into our German language and wanted to serve everyone by transferring it, in the confidence that the favorable reader, who is inexperienced in the Latin language, will find pleasure in this my good intention.
Since, however, it is also a common habit to dedicate newly published treatises to prominent persons, so that under their protection they might be shielded against the calumnies slander of the detractors, I have, in accordance with this, wanted to humbly write and dedicate this my version to Your Well-born, Valiant, and Best [Self]: Especially, however, because not only the aforementioned Lord Author writer of it
