The Most Secret Rosary of the Philosophers

in a correct order and word for word, with all their sufficient causes, succinctly hand down whatever we have found necessary from their books for the completion of the work, placing nothing whatsoever that is superfluous, and no addition to the entire magisterium Great Work of alchemy. May it therefore please our Lord Jesus Christ to send us the spirit of His understanding.

All the works of the Lord's goodness are circular and perfect, spherically rotated toward Him from whom they proceeded. For from the beginning of His creation, placing nature before all things, He made four simple bodies, from which He afterwards constituted all mixed bodies. Of these mixtures, He made some intellectual, some sensitive, some vegetable, and some mineral. Indeed, He created all intellectual things from the rarity of the elements in the likeness of Himself. Therefore, our heart is restless for Him until we come to Him. For the rarity of all elements ascends to the fire, which is near the stars. Therefore, we, created by Him, deservedly tend upward to God, as to our first principle.
