Indeed, the ternary number of the persons and their gifts, as well as the supernatural star, signifies something singular and mystical.

Nor was the dream that occurred to the wife of Pilate, who falsely adjudged our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to death, a natural one. That vision of the Angels made to the shepherds at the birth of Christ, and likewise to the women at His sepulcher, is by no means to be considered natural.

What of the fact that many other supernatural things happened frequently through the prophecies of the Prophets and Saints? The voice of the ass speaking to Balaam was not in accordance with nature, just as the interpretation of dreams by Joseph exceeded the powers of nature. GOD also frequently protects us from infinite evils through the ministry of His Angels and snatches us from necessities and perils, for which the powers of nature would otherwise not suffice.

These things, therefore, and many others, pertain to Theology and are celestial things, which the soul ought to attend to. Following these are the supernatural things of the visible creatures of GOD, just as we perceive in the firmament, the planets, and the stars, together with the elements, which also surpass our reason; yet we observe their course through the speculation of calculation, which is a matter of Astronomical doctrine. Such creatures, however, perform their operations in a visible, yet incomprehensible way, in a magnetic manner, from which emerge many miracles equally alien to nature. Know this, however, that heaven flows into the earth, and the earth in turn responds to heaven, for the earth also
