will attack this doctrine as altogether adverse to nature, from which many will descend into the most serious mutual altercations, whether this cure is natural or not, possible or not, or whether it is a charm. But this controversy must be settled by these facts: that this cure is indeed natural, but the mode of operating is supernatural and spiritual, since it occurs by a purely attractive and incomprehensible reason. Furthermore, that this mode of curing proceeds without charm is proved by this very fact: because it is not joined with any charm or any other contranatural medium that defies GOD the Creator and His word, but is entirely natural, resulting from its own supernatural, invisible, incomprehensible, spiritual, and attractive virtue, which, having obtained its origin from the stars, performs its operation through the Elements.
Finally, I can vindicate this cure from the charge of charm, since it is established that the Devil prefers to rejoice in the calamity and misfortune of the human race rather than provide any relief for the health of men, which otherwise, without divine permission, does not consist in his powers at all. Many things would still need to be added to this magnetic form, but to avoid various errors, I now stop and press silence until I have related certain things about the natural miracles of the world.
Coarse and crude minds, though stuffed with the opinion of Philosophy, and all who have corrupted senses know no distinction in these things, but a wise and skilled person can most easily distinguish natural things from supernatural ones.
Let one note and observe this similarity through a cruder...
