Dear favorable reader, although several beautiful little treatises on this subject of the high universal medicine have been published in recent years, there is none to be found among them that would have presented the mystery of this highest art in such beautiful order, clear understanding, bright revelation, and easy comprehension as this one. It was written many years ago by a distinguished French philosopher and physician and shared with me by a good friend in France. I pray you let it be commended to you in the best way, because it can serve fruitfully and contribute to those who are experienced in the high Philosophical work for confirmation: to the beginning Hermetic sons for instruction: and to those who have wandered into the labyrinth of thoughtless and destructive gold-making without prior study, for the saving of their goods. Thereby, may it be faithfully commended to GOD for gracious illumination in the light of nature, in the leading of a godly Christian life and walk, to the praise and honor of His holy Name.
