With this, they prepare an Amalgama amalgam by trituration with common mercury, set it to digestion a long, gentle heating process for a certain time, and afterwards distill the mercury from the mass. They are then of the opinion that, if they repeat such amalgamation and other subsequent work seven to ten times, the common mercury will thereby be sharpened and acquire the fiery power of the superfluous sulfur of Mars and Venus.
