Therefore, such are quite clear and lighter due to their purity, whereas the northern ones are unhealthier due to their weight and coarseness. But much is written about the testing of water in Vitruvio, Plinio, and other writers, of which I will make no mention here, but will make a beginning in raising water through all kinds of artificial machines. So that we may finally reach the publication of mill-works and other artificial things all the more speedily. I am of the complete confidence that the favorable reader will let such please him, and be satisfied with this explanation of the origins and water sources.
