But when one presses the pump piston, or small rod, back in, the lower valve or plate closes, and the water lifts the other valve D. and presses itself out through the pipe F. to where one wishes to have it. However, so that the water is forced with more pressure and sprays further out, one attaches to the top of the pipe F. a small pipe made of sheet metal, which is somewhat wide at the bottom and narrow at the top, as is marked with H. And with this syringe, one can quickly spray over a large spot in a garden or a large area of bleaching linen with little effort, and one simply places this syringe into a water barrel or water ditch, and uses it however one wishes and wherever one directs it.
