8. Regarding gold-ore.

Break gold-ore into powder, and take into it

antimony,

gold-litharge,

burnt cream of tartar and

fluxed salt.

Pound everything to powder, mix it together, and set it into the fire in the same way. And when you work, set it with copper, and with no lead, and do to it as in the previous one.

9. Another on gold-ore.

Take a piece original: "Stuffe" of gold-ore, and lay it into the fire, and make it glowing; afterward quench it with fresh lye, which is made from lime and human urine, just like other lye, and then rub the aforementioned piece to powder. Afterward take the same powder and the above-described flux-powder, rub them well together, let it afterward start slowly, and beat gold-litharge to it upon the furnace, and drive it upon a potsherd.

10. A powder to make all metal liquid, so that it flows like lead.
