The writings and books marked with an * are partly in our possession, and partly have been seen and perused by us in libraries, so that there is nothing to criticize or to doubt regarding their accuracy.
From the chemical, alchemical, and physical books, we have only included those that teach the knowledge and treatment of ores, metals, and fossils, because there might be several thousand of the others alone.
The writings and books about medicinal, acid, salt, and other mineral springs, as well as warm and other baths, shall in the future, God willing, follow under the title: Bibliotheca hydrographica, and their number will extend to well over 1000.
