BIBLIOTHECA METALLICA.

This book was obtained by the Earl of Sandwich, the English Ambassador in Spain, as an exceedingly great rarity. He began to translate it into English, but completed only 2 books, which were published after his death and also translated into German. Both the English and the German editors, as well as the readers, assumed that these two books comprised the entire work. However, after a Spanish copy finally came into my hands, I saw that three books were missing from that translation. Because this work is held in such high regard for its rarity even in Spain, I did not spare the effort to have the whole thing transcribed.
The preface of the English translation, which was translated into German, speaks of it as follows:
Now you hold in your hands a jewel, which is held in such high original: "hoch"
