instructor of Plants in our Major Hospital, kindly collected for me for the sake of gathering Alpine plants first, and then Maritime plants, while I was absent from the City, and likewise with some others collected by me on a journey, namely of those species which I brought into the Garden on this same occasion, and which I did not hesitate to add here for the sake of Friends. I confess that perhaps many common plants will be found in this enumeration, but I thought it necessary to provide for the convenience of foreign plant-lovers living in lands that are by no means fertile in these same plants: Just as some, which are held among us in the place of very rare ones, among others, living under a happier Heaven, would almost become cheap due to abundance.
As far as the nomenclature of the Plants is concerned, using the example of our MICHELI Pier Antonio Micheli, I have followed the Tournefortian referring to the system of Joseph Pitton de Tournefort method, both because it recommends itself above all others by its simplicity,
