Büchner, Andreas Elias · 1755

A detailed woodcut headpiece. In the center, a bird, likely a phoenix or eagle, stands with wings outstretched upon a decorative pedestal or pyre. Above the bird is a sun with a face, emanating rays of light. The central motif is flanked by ornate symmetrical scrolls of acanthus leaves and flowers, which terminate on both sides in cornucopias overflowing with floral blooms.
