Amsterdam 1750. 9-0. Jean-Frédéric Ostervald was a Swiss Protestant whose Bible version was highly influential for its accessible summaries of each chapter.

Elizabeth Blackwell (1707–1758) produced this work to raise money to release her husband from a debtors' prison; it was a landmark in botanical illustration.
