In order to satisfy the curiosity of the readers as to who the author of this little book, so respected by friends of higher chemistry, might be, we have reprinted the report on his life and writings from the reliable news concerning the most distinguished writers, part 4, Lemgo 1764, by a great connoisseur of scholarly history, the late Professor Hamberger of Göttingen, where it can be found on pages 458 to 464.
