Murr, Christoph Gottlieb von · 1803

An ornate 18th-century copperplate engraving of a bookplate (ex-libris). At the top, it features a coat of arms topped with an electoral crown and supported by two lions rampant. The shield is quartered with heraldic symbols including lions and lozenges. Below the heraldry, a rectangular architectural cartouche contains the Latin text identifying the library. The entire composition is enclosed within a decorative border of laurel wreaths and ribbons. The engraving is pasted onto a background of blue marbled paper. At the bottom, outside the decorative frame, are the signatures of the artist and engraver.
