Like a father standing among his children, the old man stood here, laying his best legacy into their minds in these short, meaningful sayings. These are not hollow-sounding and fading platitudes. There is life-breath in them. For it is the core of his experiences, captured in words, reproduced in almost the same sequence in which his life developed it. Therefore, the account of his life seems to fit onto these words as if by itself and to arrange itself accordingly.
