104. Tarikh al-Khulafa History of the Caliphs, by Dschelaleddin Abdorrahman f. Ebibekr Esseyuti, died 911. A work to be preferred to all others treating the history of the Caliphs, in the judgment of Hadschi Chalfa.
105. Tarikh al-Hukama History of Philosophers, by Mohammed B. Abdolkerim Schehristani, died 548. Written in a very elegant character, sufficiently recommended to all Oriental philologists under the author's name.
106. Tarikh Salatin Rum History of the Greek Emperors, folio. It begins from Constantine the Great and continues after the fall of the Byzantine Empire until Sultan Murad IV in 1624 of the Christian era. Written by Ferrach Daimus, a French interpreter, in 1715 in Sidonia.
107. Sirat Amir al-Mu'minin al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah wa ma fiha min al-'Aja'ib wa al-Ghara'ib Biography of the Prince of the Faithful Hakim bi-Amr Allah, and on the miraculous events in his time, biographically and historically, i.e., descriptively and chronologically, by Ahmed f. Abdollah f. Chalegan. It is permissible to doubt whether this is the same as the "Arab Plutarch" who became famous under the name of the son of Chalegan, because he is called Ahmed son of Mohammed, whereas here he is named Ahmed son of Abdollah. The content of the volume adds more weight to this doubt, which indeed seems to us written more frivolously and fabulously than biographically and historically. Only the second volume is present, in folio, 559 pages.
108. Marj al-Zuhur fi Waqa'i' al-Duhur Flowery Meadow of the Events of the Ages; by Seid Mohammed Ben Ajas Alhanefi, in two volumes. The first, divided into 46 chapters, deals with the geographical division of the earth, the seas, rivers, mountains, etc., then with the history of the Prophets from Adam to Mohammed. The second volume treats various theological matters, interspersed with anecdotes and histories. This codex was written in a character that is anything but beautiful, in the year 1112 (1700), 4to.
109. This codex, clearly written but damaged in some places by humidity, contains several historical treatises by the most celebrated Makrisi under the following titles:
I. Kitab al-Bayan wa al-I'rab 'amma bi-Ard Misr min al-A'rab Explanatory and exegetical book on the Arabs living in the land of Egypt: enumerating the names of various Arab tribes that inhabit Egypt and their origins.
II. Kitab al-Niza' wa al-Takhasum fima bayna Bani Umayya wa Bani Hashim History of the contention and enmity between the family of the Umayyads and the family of the Prophet.
III. Kitab Jani al-Azhar min al-Rawd al-Mi'tar Exquisite flowers from fragrant gardens; which is a compendium of the geographical work Aja'ib al-Aaqtar
