Ringmacher, Daniel, 1662-1728; Tilger, Marcus Paulus · 1710

Tilger ascends the chair with rare effort,
And our learned friend begins his battles.
Battles about COINS, I say, with a dear learned President,
So that he may show his sharp wit to all.
Therefore I congratulate you on these efforts of your mind:
May praise and honor grow for you from them.
These few lines, as a true token of friendship, the undersigned wished to append in congratulation to the most excellent and clearly learned Mr. Respondent
A horizontal typographic divider consisting of seven stylized floral rosettes arranged in a row.
While you climb the chair with great honor of praise,
You discourse, and show the acumen of your mind about COINS,
I applaud your excellent and happy ventures,
And I pray as a supplicant to God that all things may turn out prosperous for you, and not least great praises for your studies.
Proceed; thus you will follow the clear footsteps of your Father:
Proceed; thus you will eventually receive many rewards for yourself.
May the celestial Divinity favor your beginnings, and may He will,
That all this may always redound to the honor of the Fatherland also!
These few lines, as a pledge of unpainted friendship, the undersigned wished and owed to append with a brotherly right hand to the most excellent and most learned Mr. Respondent, his uniquely beloved Patron and Friend
