He proved his industry to the blessed Buddeus in such a way that he deemed his book worthy to be adorned by his own preface and to be commended for the utility to be expected from it.

It remained for the opinions of men who are knowledgeable in these matters that the author himself should recount the elements of his philosophy and illustrate them with perpetual observations.
