In the third and fourth volumes there are again 10 books, of which the first deals with the travels and discoveries in the most remote northern and eastern parts of Asia, namely of Tartary and China. The second of the travels of the English and others into these countries, Russia, and so on. The third of the discoveries in the northern lands of Europe and Asia by the North Pole, and in the northwest of America. The fourth of the English voyages in Greenland, to seek a passage through the northwest; likewise of Russian events. The fifth of the discovery of the New World, or America, the pagan antiquities, Mexican books, and hieroglyphic figures. Concerning this rare and special piece
we have given information right at the beginning of these curiosities, namely T. I. p. 4. 5. The sixth book, with which the fourth volume begins, comprises the English travels in the eastern, western, and southern parts of America, many land and sea battles, and achieved victories over the Spaniards in these parts, the islands and sea coasts situated there, the settlement of the English in Guiana, and peculiar events. The seventh book, all kinds of travels in southern America, to Brazil, into the South Sea, to Peru, with all kinds of notes, which concern the water and land. The eighth, the sea and land travels in Florida, Virginia, and other northern lands in America, the establishment of the French, the driving out of the Spaniards, the travels of the English in Virginia, and news of the Azores. The ninth, of the English plantations, discoveries, and events in Virginia, and the Bermuda Islands from the year 1606 to 1624. The tenth, of the English discoveries and plantations in New England, Terra Nova, their travels, and finally news of the naval fleets and sea battles between the Spaniards and the English in the times of Queen Elizabeth. This collection deserves that someone might give a detailed report of all the pieces contained therein.
