The Book of the Concord of the Koran or Law of Muhammad and the Evangelists

However, I use that word according to the German custom, because I promise concord with a most depraved heresy under the title of the Evangelists. For the faction of the new cult calls its own preachers Evangelists; alluding to their word in this work, I call them now Ceneuangeliſtas Empty-evangelists, that is, vain ones, now Cæneuangeliſtas New-evangelists, that is, new ones. Furthermore, they receive all things that they have in common with the Church of Christ to be protected, in such a way that they are so consonant with the doctrine of the Alcorani Koran that it seems to be taken from there, which things have been reproved and condemned in them to this day by most learned men according to the opinion of the Church. I have written this, however, especially so that the reſp. Chriſtiana Christian Republic may take heed for itself. Nor will it happen, even though those Evangelists demand a council daily, that they will ever repent for the opinion of any council, since they rely on arms and princes. For it will not seem to them that a council is legitimately convened in which they do not obtain the primary roles, or where anything is established against their opinion. Farewell. Paris. 1543.
