9. The Cimbri, who the adversaries of Gaul also admit received the name from Gomer as Cimmerians, also have their origin from the Gauls, and are read to have spread their first warlike movements into Europe. Diodorus, Appian, & Valerius Maximus have noted that the Cimbri are Gauls.
