College of St. John, monastery
A small hand-drawn ink sketch depicts a standing figure, possibly a reader's mark or shelf mark.
The printer's mark of Joannes Maire is an oval woodcut emblem showing a man in simple clothing laboring in a field, digging with a spade. In the sky above him, rays of light emerge from clouds. A scroll within the emblem bears the motto "FAC ET SPERA" Do and Hope. The oval is surrounded by a decorative laurel wreath tied with a ribbon at the base.
