OF GUILLAUME POSTEL
Of
THE UNIVERSE,
Two Books:
In which
A S T R O N O M Y,
or the Doctrine of the Heavens, is presented as a compendium
adapted to the Earth, and according to the order of celestial
influence, and the reasoning of the principal Origins, the
whole Earth, insofar as it is known, along with the times
of Kingdoms, is expounded.
But before all other parts of the world,
H O L Y L A N D is described in the highest,
that is, the most ample compendium. To which France, on account of the primary
name of the world and law, is substituted, because both are about to give
law to the whole world.
The second book explains the Tables of Ptolemy, whom he calls Ptole-
meolus.
