From these angelic influxes of the intelligences, 12 fathers of the law of nature have been established, as many for the written law, and 12 for the law of grace, until there are just as many for the restoration of all things. But there are six ministers under each one, so that 72 various particular influxes result, while individual signs are divided among ten degrees each, so that individual angels preside over sets of ten degrees in the north, and individual ones in the south. For this reason, there were 72 nations after the flood, 72 souls entering Egypt, restored in the 72 elders who were disciples of Moses, and by the same logic 72 disciples of Christ, and the same number for the future Harmony of the world; for thus it has been decreed in heaven.
