CHAPTER I.

Just as in individuals or particulars, in which it is impossible to reach infinity, God, the best and greatest, has so hidden the reasons for future natures—gradually proceeding from them—that in truth there is nothing in any great multitude that was not first and foremost in the first individual: so also in sacred things, for whose sake profane things exist, it is necessary that the most perfect God has acted.
