Since, however, we frequently see that Men almost achieve their Vows in this, and no nation can deny that the Human race is entangled in innumerable Diseases of both mind and body because it is held everywhere in the safety of Mind and Body by innumerable laws or prescriptions: it is absolutely necessary that the Human race be restored in these lower things to that Perfectioni Perfection which, having been profligated everywhere by the Law due to Sin, it desires to this day. For otherwise, Sin would have been more powerful by perverting, and innumerable Nebulones scoundrels would have been more powerful by overturning the order of Nature through tyrannies and concupiscences, than God would have been in leading it to its end.
