An ornate engraved frontispiece features a central portrait of a man with long, curly hair and a mustache, dressed in a dark mantle with a white clerical collar and a medallion hanging from a sash. The portrait is set within an oval laurel wreath. Below the portrait, a large architectural pedestal features a central coat of arms depicting three bunches of grapes, surmounted by a crown and surrounded by elaborate leaf-like mantling. Flanking the coat of arms are two circular emblems: the left depicts a pelican in her piety, a symbol of feeding her young with her own blood, and the right depicts a lone tree on a hill. A small emblem of a palm tree is at the very base of the shield. The engraver's signature appears on the right edge of the pedestal.
