and his Septimana Philosophica Philosophical Week according to this touchstone, not even a jot is found in these said writings from which the advocates of Vitriol could take any argument that would place a prop under that opinion concerning Vitriol. The Canons of the most excellent Henr. Nollius, who was also an undoubted Adeptus Adept, contradict that absolute opinion concerning Vitriol. All the Aenigmata Enigmas, Parabolae Parables, and Paradoxa Paradoxes, which the Adepts have published concerning the material of the L. P. B., indicate nothing less than Vitriol, so that throughout all the writings of the Adepts the Patrons of Vitriol succumb, who shout and declaim for this. We have now used a sufficiently long discourse for refuting that opinion concerning Vitriol. And since You, most celebrated of men and best of friends, were also once immersed in this mud, for your sake, therefore, I instituted this discourse against the proponents of Vitriol. It is now my wish that you continue on the royal road, which you have begun to tread, strenuously relying on the help of God, and armed with the patience of Job, and that the supreme Divinity may cause you to obtain the desired end for the honor of God, the benefit of Your most splendid Family, and the salvation of your neighbor! Farewell! Favor me! Again and again, farewell and favor me!
