Andreae to some extent, and not too brief for those whom one wishes to first introduce and endear him to by this path, this might be a little difficult to decide. Next, the question also arises whether the explanatory notes should be in Latin—like the original text—or in German? In both cases, the notes might contrast with the text in a not entirely pleasant way; but I think that it would contrast less if one accompanied the Latin text with German notes in a simple and natural expression. Finally, it would also be worth considering whether Andreae’s biography, in which there are undeniably very many strictly personal and local—indeed, even domestic—
