Regarding this index, the following should be noted:

That I have, with careful consideration, separated the teutſche German writings of J. V. A. from the Latin ones, as the latter, taken on average, are of significantly greater importance than the former; thus, in compiling the index, I had to focus primarily on the original Latin writings.
That, to avoid complete confusion, I have adopted the year of first publication of each work as the guiding principle for organizing the writings of J. V. A. In time, I may find the opportunity to specify more accurately for most of them the time of their composition, which is often quite distinct from that of the printing or publication.
That, in preparing this index, I have had by far the majority, though not strictly all, of these writings before me. Anyone who cares to examine the index carefully will easily perceive where I have not yet been able to provide more precise information.
