The New Living Way Prepared by Christ

Therefore let us pursue sanctification with all earnestness. You will experience then, when the godless husband does not want to die to his beastly lusts and harm them; how he will rage and rave against you, how the mad priests will incite him even more to the frenzy of his lusts, to trample you underfoot, and even to threaten you with death, if you will not do his devilish will of unchastity and continue to serve sin with him.

§ 5. Have you become faithful to Jesus in your house among your blood-relatives, to follow Him alone and the impulse of His Spirit; Then this fire of love continues to test and refine you further. In that you also must become, with Jesus, a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense to all hypocrites and godless people outside your house. The very first and worst enemies are your own so-called soul-fathers, your pastors and teachers, as soon as you go to Jesus Himself, and draw from Him, the living fountain itself, take counsel with Him, and give heed and follow the impulses, gentle movements, and divine convictions of His Spirit in you. Those who want to be the best ones point you indeed with many words to Jesus, saying, you must remain attached to us, that we do not want; But if you do such a thing in and with the deed, and accept Jesus in the Spirit as your Lord, leader, teacher, king, and priest, and no longer want to know Jesus according to the flesh, 2 Corinthians 5:16. Then you will experience that nothing is more insufferable and hateful to those called by men as the deed itself. They cannot suffer it that you confess Jesus before people with your words and deeds as He teaches and drives you in your inward being. Then you are the most disorderly person if you let yourself be rightly ordered by Jesus in your inward being, so that all the powers of your spirit agree with Jesus' Spirit, mind, will, and divine nature; and as you constantly see and hear JESUS teaching, praying, offering, blessing, and working in you, you likewise do and work with your outer man: therefore performing everything in His name, power, impulse, order, and will. Then you experience that they make themselves into idols, and everything that they do according to the statutes and orders prescribed by men, in their own name, power, and impulse, is the greatest idolatry, with which you can impossibly have further fellowship: but Jesus urges you through the divine fire of love and righteousness to separate yourself from it, and to avoid all their doing as filth, as it truly is before GOD. Then the love of Jesus makes you loose from the subtle clinging to the teachers and their idolatry, so that you can deal all the more freely with your Jesus in the Spirit.
