This is a faithful translation taken from certain letters sealed with the hanging wax seal of the Court of Paris, the tenor of which letters, which are written on parchment, is as follows in all respects.
To all who shall inspect these present letters, the official of the Court of Paris, greetings in the Lord. Let it be known to all that in the presence of Master Ioannes de Salmis and Michael de Ionquerio, our sworn clerks, to whom we grant undoubted faith in these and greater matters and to whom we have committed these things by the tenor of these presents, personally appeared: Master Martinus, in medicine; Master Ioannes Scotus, in the arts; Master Raymundus de Biterue, bachelor in medicine; Brother Clemens, prior of the servants of Saint Mary of Paris; Brother Amasius of the same place; Master Petrus Burgundus, master in arts; Egidius, master in arts of Valle Spouete; Matheus Guidonis, bachelor in arts; Petrus Iulianus; Ioannes de Iuncastro, bachelor in arts; Gaufridus Demeldis; Petrus de Parisius; Vertrandus de Frisia; Gilabertus de Normannia; Laurentius de Hispania; Guilermus de Scocia; Henricus de Burgundia; Ioannes Normannus, bachelor in arts; and Master Egidius and many others up to the number of forty, experienced in the said sciences, who asserted by their oaths, not induced by force, deceit, fear, or fraud, but of their own spontaneous
