On the Mysteries

It is right to consider the resolution [to] poets.

...bodies being divided; of all things as many [as are] the races of those in nature. But others will seek, blessed [is] the resolution, and the good in the fitting of the nature of itself. Thus therefore whether one considers some share of the living [things], such as a bird, or a living creature, or a city or a nation or even a world, and even all, whether [one] considers a share or a work [as] the receiving [thing], in every way the living creature shines upon; just as the sun [being] worthy shines [upon] all with its own things; just as therefore the light is contained by the illuminated, so also the life that came with them, the receiving [thing] of it, the life is contained. And just as again concerning some air is the light, as if [it were] from the nothing of being of it the advantages [of] light, it leads back again the already thin to retreat. And yet strength is present to it; from whence also the light itself rather flows away [and] departs, so also the life of the living creatures [will] have [it], not being separated. Or as [those] honoring, asserting, [it] proceeds, and not of those happening; but the light seen by us is one continuous [thing] everywhere the same. So that not even being [present it] retreats [nor] is a part of it cut off. Nor [is it] in a place [by] description, nor even for a little and sometime [is] the light in the rulers. How [does] the same again all and the whole world, being divided, carry the one and the indivisible light of the living [things]? It does not appear. But it is one and itself everywhere whole; for it is indivisible, [to] all being able to participate in it; and it has fulfilled the complete power everywhere and again [it] is not completed by any superiority of the causes in [any] one [thing], being [of] life and that everywhere toward itself, and [it] is joined by the grace of age. But to which also this whole [that is] divided, or however great [it] being, revolution [around]. Most vital toward it, and by the life, [it] leads [as] a guide. All the things in them being [present], and [they] are touched by being carried according to the same beginnings, such as [to] be composed linguistically [it] makes one the continuity and the whole agreement which it works [as] wholes.
