Joyful were these three together,
The one with the other,
And also so very well content;

From the world's wise ones, unthinking,
How they kill men and women
By day and by night.
Two women have they taken;
Is it not a great sorrow?
Where they would come,
They did not know themselves.
Into a house they brought them,
And set them by a beer,

But he found them fierce in the faith.
He has questioned them further,
Right to the Roman church;
They have risked it there.
2. Thess. 2. a. 9 ‡ It is nothing but the devil’s work.
Now hear what we confess
Of your great Baal A biblical idol often used to refer to the Catholic Church in Reformation literature.;
It is nothing but devilry,
And all working together.
Of the priests’ bread, he spoke,
Whether it was not God perfect;
To that they told him
That there was a devil concealed.

In silver nor in gold,
So they led out
These two bold maidens.
They went without burdens.
