Lely, Lucas Fopsz · 1614

An ornate calligraphic specimen page from a writing manual. The page features three distinct sections. At the top right is a capital letter alphabet followed by a centered title in a formal script. The middle section contains a block of text in Lettre Carree Square Letter, beginning with a large, highly decorative initial "C" featuring elaborate calligraphic flourishes and scrollwork. Below this text, another large decorative initial "A" precedes a lowercase alphabet where letters are presented in pairs or triples. The page concludes with a calligraphic signature at the bottom right.
