Halts dafür das Kunst gar weit alles gelt

snel aber kunst fleiß Zu aller zeit beständig
Die weisheit ist auch vnder allen menschliche

The text is framed by elaborate calligraphic flourishes. A large ornamental initial 'H' begins the main line of text, decorated with intricate swirling patterns. Below the main stanza, a series of complex, interlacing pen-loops and decorative scrolls fill the bottom half of the page.
Translation of the verse: Practice art and consider it to be far superior to all money and goods, for temporal wealth passes quickly, but art and diligence remain constant at all times. Wisdom is also, among all human treasures, the only thing that is immortal. Socrates.
The following text is integrated into the flourishes at the bottom right:
Fleis u Kunst arbeit stätigh. Diligence and art work steadily.
