THE States General of the United Netherlands have consented and granted, do consent and grant by these presents, to Willem Iansz., citizen of Amsterdam, that he, for the period of six years next to come, alone within the United Netherlands shall be permitted to print and publish the third part of his book named the Light of Navigation, containing the description of the sea coasts of the Mediterranean Sea. Forbidding anyone, any inhabitant of the United Netherlands, to reprint the aforementioned book, in whole or in part, in any language, in small or in large format, within the aforementioned period of six years, or to bring copies printed elsewhere into the United Netherlands to be sold therein, without the consent of the aforementioned Willem Iansz., on pain of forfeiture of the reprinted copies and, in addition, of the sum of three hundred Carolus guilders, one third of which is to be applied to the benefit of the officer who shall make the claim, the second third to the benefit of the poor, and the remaining third to the benefit of the aforementioned Willem Iansz.
