A highly detailed, hand-colored copperplate engraving of a map titled "THE MARCH OF BRANDENBURG." The map depicts the Margraviate of Brandenburg and the surrounding regions, including the Duchies of Pomerania to the northeast and Mecklenburg to the northwest. The geography features major river systems (the Elbe, Oder, and Havel), numerous lakes, and forested areas. Several heraldic shields are positioned over the land: a black bull's head for Mecklenburg, a red griffin for Pomerania, and a red eagle for Brandenburg.
At the top, the Baltic Sea ("PART OF THE BALTIC SEA") contains three sailing vessels and two decorative compass roses. In the bottom left corner, there is an ornate title cartouche topped with a winged eagle crest over a red eagle shield; a female figure in classical dress sits beside the title block. In the bottom right corner, a scale bar labeled "Common German miles" is held by four cherubic figures.
