A hand-colored seventeenth-century map depicting the course of the Elbe River (Albis Fluvius) and its estuary. The map is oriented with South at the top and North at the bottom. It shows the surrounding regions of Lower Saxony and Holstein, including the Duchy of Lüneburg, the Bishopric of Bremen (Das Ertz Stift Bremen), and Stormaria. The city of Hamburg is depicted at the confluence of the Alster and Elbe rivers. Detailed geographical features include islands, sandbanks, and various towns and villages. Decorative elements include a title cartouche with a rural figure, a dedication cartouche flanked by two standing figures, multiple coats of arms, a compass rose, and several sailing vessels on the water.
