A detailed seventeenth-century copperplate engraving providing a panoramic view of the city of Seville from across the Guadalquivir River. At the top center, the title "SEVILLA." is inscribed within a large, ornate cartouche draped with garlands of fruit and foliage. The city skyline is dense with buildings and characterized by numerous church spires, most notably the Giralda bell tower and the Seville Cathedral. The river is busy with several large, multi-masted sailing ships and smaller boats. To the left, a bridge of boats (Puente de Barcas) spans the water. In the foreground, on a grassy embankment, several figures are depicted: a man in a wide-brimmed hat holding a staff, and a family seated in a wooden cart drawn by a pair of oxen. The entire scene is framed by a decorative border featuring a repeating laurel or husk motif.
