The left side of the spread displays a faint rectangular border and the mirrored, ghosted outlines of maritime and coastal features, continuing from the map portion on the right side.

The right side of the spread shows the faint, mirrored image of a coastal map. In the upper right corner, there is a large decorative cartouche supported by allegorical figures and topped with a coat of arms. To the left of the cartouche is a compass rose with radiating rhumb lines. The map appears to depict the city of Saint-Malo and its surrounding waters.
