A detailed historical map of the Bishopric of Liège (Leodiensis Episcopatus) and its surrounding provinces. The map shows terrain features, river systems (including the Meuse/Maas), and numerous towns and villages labeled with their contemporary names. Significant regional labels include BRABANTIA, DUCATUS LIMBURGENSIS, COMITATUS NAMURCENSIS, DUCATUS JULIACENSIS, and ARCHIEPISCOPATUS TREVIRENSIS. The map is framed by a border marked with degrees of latitude and longitude.
In the lower right-hand quadrant is a decorative title cartouche. The title is inscribed on a stone pedestal. Below the inscription, within an arched opening, an engraver or sculptor is depicted at work with a hammer and chisel. To the right of the pedestal stands a classically draped female figure. To the left sits a basket of flowers. Below this scene is a scale of miles.
