To the south, it encompasses the Mediterranean Sea and the northern coast of Africa. Sailing vessels populate the oceans, and a decorative compass rose appears in the Atlantic. A red line marks the Arctic Circle. Two decorative cartouches contain the title and a dedication with a coat of arms featuring lions and fleur-de-lis.
