A detailed 17th-century hand-colored engraved map of the Duchy of Lüneburg and surrounding northern German territories. The map features two decorative cartouches. In the upper-left, a large cartouche framed by colorful scrolls, floral swags, and a grotesque mask at the base contains the title and author information. In the upper-right, a simpler cartouche topped with a pair of dividers over a compass rose displays bar scales for German and French miles. The map depicts topographical features including forests (rendered as individual trees), hills, and rivers, most notably the Elbe and Weser. Towns and cities are marked with red-roofed architectural icons. The border is marked with degrees of latitude and longitude, with cardinal directions labeled: Septentrio (North) at the top, Oriens (East) at the right, Meridies (South) at the bottom, and Occidens (West) at the left.
