A detailed hand-colored copperplate-engraved map showing the Duchies of Jülich (Juliacensis), Cleves (Cliviensis), and Berg (Montensis), as well as the County of Mark (Marciae) and Ravensberg. The map is oriented with West (Occidens) at the top and East (Oriens) at the bottom. It features prominent rivers including the Rhine (Rhenus) and the Meuse (Mosa), with hundreds of towns and villages marked by architectural icons and names. Territories are outlined in varying colors (yellow, green, red, pink).
In the top left corner, there is a large, ornate cartouche with a coat of arms containing the title. In the bottom left corner, a small illustration shows a man sitting with a basket next to the publisher's imprint. On the right-hand side, there is an inset map titled "MONASTERIENSIS EPISCOPATUS PARS" providing a smaller-scale overview of the Bishopric of Münster and surrounding areas, accompanied by a rectangular cartouche containing an explanatory note. The border includes longitudinal and latitudinal markings and directional labels.
The regions of the Jülich and Cleves territories are delineated in this our map at the greatest possible size; the remaining parts of the Ravensberg and Lippe regions, and likewise the more Eastern parts of the Mark, can be shown here in this smaller outlined form.
